Finding Memory Grove Park

map of our "tour" of Memory Grove Park

The wedding rehearsal was set to begin at 5:00 and, although we didn't know where we were going, I used Google Maps on my Blackberry to get us there. Or, so I thought. We found Memory Grove Park but could not figure out where everyone was supposed to be. Turns out that everyone else was also running late so they weren't there when we drove by. I called Steve and described where we were and he was running late and trying to find the Park with the GPS in his car...and his GPS was wa-aa-ay off. The confusion was the "gate". Steve had told us earlier that the "gate" would be closed and that we'd have to park and walk in. So, when we came to the "gate", we saw no people and there were no places to park. From the map on my phone, it looked like maybe there were places to park on the other side of the park so we started driving around. Steve called me back and said that "the gate" was open and everyone was parked at the spot. We continued around the park and came to another road with a gate, just like the one we'd seen earlier and, it was open. We thought that this road would take us back to the first gate...it did and that gate was still locked and we were trapped!! We got out and looked around and found the wedding party about 100 yards down the road where we had driven past, twice, just 15 minutes earlier. I walked with Jamie over to the rehearsal while Bill backtracked and finally got the car back to where we needed to be. Turns out that the "gate" (main gate) that Steve was talking about was open so we didn't even know we had passed a gate at all. The first gate that we came to (and the road from there to the 2nd gate) was blocked off to vehicle traffic as it is a jogging/biking trail. Ooops!! (Don't know why the gate at the north end was open!)
So, we were a little late to the rehearsal but we did get to know more about Memory Grove Park than most everyone else!! We were in the right place and at the correct time but, since we didn't see anyone else, we just didn't know it!

The Rehearsal Dinner was a Luau theme and held at Bev & Steve's condo clubhouse. There was so much amazing food! We didn't stay too long at the dinner, though, because we needed to get Jamie into bed at a reasonable time.
