Just wanted to give a few updates on recent posts...
Outside Kitty is still MIA. He has never been gone for this long so we're assuming the worst. We've not decided on exactly what to do but we do feel like we should do a little memorial service of some sort to remember his presence with us and bring closure. He was a loving cat and we miss him.
My Gram is doing better. She's been in a rehabilitation center for the past couple of weeks, getting stronger and recovering from whatever it was that caused her decline. If all goes well, she will be discharged on Tuesday and will be able to go home. My cousin, Esteban, is moving back from Los Angeles to live with and help care for her as it has been determined that she can no longer live alone. My aunt and uncle (apparently my father has not provided any input or support...go figure!) have agreed to pay Esteban a salary for his commitment, time and work. He is excited for this opportunity and is planning to start a blog to share old family stories, recipes, etc. as told by Gram. I am so grateful that he is in a place in his life that he can drop his ties in L.A. and move back to NM to spend this time with Gram. I'm also secretly and selfishly grateful that he will be only 3-1/2 hours away, although I am sad that we never got to make a family trip to CA to visit him there.
We drove by the ice sculptures today. Well, we drove by what is left of the ice sculptures. The buffalo is still standing but the horse has collapsed and the bear is now headless. Such a shame that these pieces of art did not last very long. The temperatures were in the mid 50's this weekend, nice for being outdoors, but not conducive to ice sculptures. The weather forecast is for 3-5 inches of snow and colder temperatures this week. I feel fairly confident that the temperatures will cool down but, as for the snow...I'll believe it when I see it!

This is Donna. You can tell I use my blog oh-so-often!
Sorry to hear about Outside Kitty. My remaining outside kitty, Little Gray Kitty, has also been MIA. He's been gone as long as a week before, then, when I think something must have happened to him, he shows up. I feed him, but he doesn't stay in the garage. He is extremely feral, and I suspect he's the FIV carrier that got Rascal and BBK. I can't get him, though, to have him tested. *sigh*
It's hard when we lose any animal, even our Outside Kitties. I think a little memorial is definitely in order.
