This weeks Science Saturdays was about rockets. Kids (with help from parents) used water/soda bottles, foam core board, paper and LOTS of duct tape to construct a rocket, then we went outside to launch them. I think I heard that there were 24 kids participating, up from the five we had at the first time we attended.

The bottles were filled half-way with water and then attached to the launch system that pressurized the bottle with air. A pull of the string by the young "rocket scientist" released the bottle and launched it into the air. Everyone's rocket launched, some went up and some went horizontal, and everyone had a great time!
Jamie's rocket did very well, he had fun building and launching his rocket. He also had fun running and playing with his friends.
